Alternative Provision

What is Alternative Provision ?

Alternative education provision (AP) supports children and young people by providing specialist places and support for those who would benefit from spending time away from their current school or who present with such needs that cannot or can no longer be met in a mainstream school environment. Alternative provision providers will work in collaboration with the registered school or directly with the local authority for those currently educated outside of a school setting to build a bespoke educational support package to suit every individual. Here at Tevi Teg, our core purpose is to provide the highest quality alternative education for pupils with additional needs, including those with EHCP’s:

A. Whose needs cannot be met in the school they are on roll in (named on the school’s admission register) and need an alternative provision to bridge the gap until a school that can meet need is commissioned

B. Are out of school/ not on the roll of any school and need an alternative educational provision to bridge the gap until a school is able to take them on to roll. This may include EOTAS

C. Are on roll at a school (named on the school’s admission register) but benefit from time in the alternative education provision

Alternative Provision  At Tevi Teg

Each session has a wide range of activities to meet all sensory needs including, swinging, climbing, building, mud/water, weighted activities and of course creative, imaginative play-based resources and spaces. In addition, there will usually be a cooking-based activity around the large communal fire, where we can share our thoughts and feelings and celebrate the achievements of the day. For those that wish to find space and isolation, there is a lovely bell tent where they can settle into the soft furnishings and enjoy a story or some time alone whilst remaining safe on site. We also have a large, warm indoor cabin with an equipped kitchen area and cosy seating and working area for when the weather sets against us! 

Tevi Teg is a registered AQA Unit Assessment Centre, allowing registered users to have access to over 10,000 units which can be achieved at their pace, in their style and build up an extensive portfolio of their achievements with us.
